So, here are some tips on weightlifting for beginners:
-Don't be intimidated by others. This is very easy to let happen. Yes, some people may be much bigger and stronger than you, but they had to start somewhere, too! So get started!
-If you plan on lifting with free weights, ALWAYS HAVE A SPOTTER. Trust me, you won't be very happy with 250 lbs of weights on your chest that you can't lift up...you'll look silly, too. If you don't have a work-out partner, ask someone in the gym if you could have a spot. Trust me, they won't mind at all. And if they say no, they are just really big jerks anyway.
-Good form beats out more weight; What this means is that you should always practice good form first...increasing the weight will come as you move along in your workout regimen. However, if you start out with weight that is too much for you, this can screw up your form and SEVERELY HURT YOU! Trust me, I've seen it.
-Drink a lot of water! It is very important to stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause many problems such as cramping.
-Always include some type of cardio workout in your workout regimen. This keeps your heart healthy and increases your endurance.
-You don't need to buy expensive supplements to build muscle. You just need to eat healthy and make sure you are getting your vitamins.
-You don't need to spend 5 hours working out at the gym everyday. Many times I could have my workout done in 30-45 minutes, not including cardio.
